The goal of the program is to help you gain the skills and insights needed for a successful career in international business and management. The master consistently ranks in the top 10 of The Economist's Master in Management Ranking each year and enrollment in the program is highly competitive. Upon completion, you will receive two degrees: a Master in International Management from the University of Cologne and a Master from the CEMS Global Alliance in Management Education.

GMAT Requirements

A GMAT score is not mandatory when applying for the Master in International Management at University of Cologne, but their admission’s committee strongly recommends that you take the admission test as this will increase your chances in the admission process. It is also important to keep in mind that if there are more applicants who match the entrance requirements than there are openings in the program, a selection process will be used to rank the applicants. The individual admission score is also used for the allocation to your CEMS term abroad within the CEMS year, as students will be allocated to their host schools regarding their preferences and application score rank.

The calculation of the individual admission score is based on the bachelor's grade, admission test result and points for the interview. The GMAT score weights for 30% in the ranking process and the condition for awarding points is a score of at least 600 in the entrance test. However, we would recommend not aiming for the minimum, as the higher your score, the more points will be attributed on this section and the more likely you will be admitted to the Master of International Management at the University of Cologne.

Prepare well and you’ll pass the GMAT!

The GMAT is generally considered a difficult test because it is a computer adaptive test with unique questions and time constraints. A score of 600+ is therefore difficult to achieve, especially if you are not well prepared. Therefore, we recommend that you start making a study plan on time.
